Independent Trucks are true classics among skateboard trucks and not without reason the first choice for many skateboarders. The brand was founded in 1978 and has definitely influenced and helped to shape modern skateboarding. The high quality of the trucks can be traced back, among other things, to the decades of experience and the constant pursuit of further development. The diverse and huge team of Independent Trucks is always involved in the decision-making processes and development of new products.
The first truck Independent introduced to the market in 1978 was the "Stage 1", a robust alternative to the models available from other brands at the time. Over the years, the "Stage 1" was constantly developed and adapted to the needs and requirements of skateboarders. Meanwhile, the "Stage 11" is the most recent model from Independent and is available in different variations.
The Stage 11 is a true all-round truck and works in any terrain. The unique geometry and a height of 55mm guarantee excellent handling and makes it the most popular Indy model. In addition to the classic Polished Standard variant, it is also available as a Pro Model or as Hollow versions. All Stage 11 models are available in sizes from 129 to 169. You can filter the right size for your deck in our webshop („Best used for board size"), and find all the infos in the product description of all trucks.
Stage 11 Hollow
Independent Trucks' Stage 11 Hollow differs only in weight from the standard version. Baseplate and hanger are also made of robust aluminum, but the axle pin and the kingpin are hollow, which reduces the weight by 7%.
Stage 11 Forged Hollow
Forged refers to a forged baseplate that is slightly lower than the standard version. While the Stage 11 Hollow and Polished trucks have a total height of 55 mm, the forged hollow is slightly lower with 53.5 mm. It is 10% less heavy than the standard Stage 11 due to the hollow kingpin and axle pin.
Stage 11 Forged Titanium
The Forged Titanium is the lightest truck in Indy's range. The slightly lower forged baseplate (53,5 mm total height) and the extra light titanium kingpin make the Forged Titanium a robust yet light truck, with all the advantages of the classic Stage 11. The right choice for all who prefer a lightweight setup.
The Mid trucks from Indy are relatively new in their product line and the right choice for skateboarders who favour technical street skating. With a height of 52 mm, it is lower than Independent's standard and forged trucks, which is why we only recommend them with a wheel size up to a maximum of 53 mm. The inverted Kingpin prevents annoying hang ups or getting stuck in grinds. The axle nut can still be adjusted with a standard skate tool. Pros like Tiago Lemos for instance absolutely swear by the Indy Mids.
In addition to trucks, Independent produces a variety of other hardware products, like bushings, shockpads, bolts or spare parts for trucks, to keep your setup in good shape.
The streetwear collection of Independent Trucks is also quite impressive. In addition to classic shirts and hoodies with classic Independent logos, the range also includes jackets and pants as well as a variety of stylish accessories. Due to some controversy around the original Independent Cross logo, the designers at Indy have come up with some alternatives without losing sight of the classic style.
The Independent Trucks team is particularly diverse. Besides street skaters like Tiago Lemos or Wes Kremer, transition riders like Lizzie Armanto, Steve Caballero and Bucky Lasek also trust the quality of Independent.
