Converse was founded in 1917 with participation of basketball player Charles "Chuck" Taylor. The stylish sneakers of the brand quickly gained great popularity, which continues to this day.
Decades before Converse brought its own skateboard-specific shoe collection with CONS to the market, the original "Chucks" were a must-have for many skateboarders. Thanks to their flat sole and rubber caps placed above the toes, the shoes were not only durable, but also guaranteed a unique board feeling. Converse was one of the first major shoe companies to recognize the potential of skateboarding and already had its own team in the 90s. Pros like Kenny Anderson and Chang Jeanguenin already had pro models on Converse during that time. After moderate success, however, the project was put on hold. In 2009, CONS finally launched, with a focus on producing the old classic shoes specifically to meet the needs of skateboarders. From the beginning, Chuck Taylors and One Star Pros were the most popular models at CONS. Of course, various PRO Model shoes by Anthony Pappalardo, Nick Trapasso or most recently Louie Lopez were produced as well.
The CONS team turns out to be particularly diverse and includes some very interesting characters. Aaron Herrington, Eli Reed, Louie Lopez, Sammy Baca, Alexis Sablone are just a few names that represent CONS. With "Purple" CONS produced their first full lenght video, which earns the rating "worth seeing" more than deserved.
CONS is a part of Nike SB, which speaks for high quality and the technical finesse of their shoes. All CONS shoes are equipped with the ingenious Nike Lunarlon sole, which provides comfort and cushioning.
Whether classic Chucks, All Stars or Pro Models, at Freedom Skateshop you will find a well-stocked selection of current CONS models.
